The client had a lease running out. That is the hardest kind of deadline, because it is not a preference and there is no version of the conversation where it moves.
Absorbing a delay you cannot pass on
The curtain wall supplier slipped seven weeks. We resequenced to build out the upper floors behind temporary weather protection rather than waiting for a watertight envelope, which cost about $340,000 and saved the move date. The client agreed the trade in an afternoon, because the alternative was two months of holdover rent at a rate they had already been quoted.
